Attorney MacCausland provides advice and strategy with regard to a child’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), provides zealous advocacy in administrative hearings before the Bureau of Special Education Appeals (BSEA), and represents families regarding their rights under Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, including Section 504 plans. Cynthia applies extensive experience   in negotiation and conciliation with substantive experience both in the technical and procedural law and with the special and unique needs of children and families seeking to establish special accommodations in the school setting.

In addition to providing representation in special education matters, Cynthia also assists college, graduate and professional students facing disciplinary proceedings, including probation, suspension, and dismissal.
